Gold Ribbon Foods Ltd was founded in 2010 by a partnership business of Reynald Ricafrente, having a background in baking, and Omar Ramos, a chef from Sydney, Australia. Gold Ribbon Cafe, situated on Building 79, Unitec Campus, Mt. Albert, was simply a student cafe that provides food, beverage and coffee mainly to university students and faculties.
Due to a limited market and scheduled school holidays, it left the business unable to run in its full capacity, until they came to introduce different range of food and tap the market outside the campus. They decided to sell Filipino cakes and Asian foods that became very famous to the Filipino community, ethnic groups and locals from the whole Auckland.
Thus on March 2012, Gold Ribbon Restaurant had opened to cater the huge demand of its products and foods. A casual dining Asian cuisine restaurant located at 1 West Coast Road, Glen Eden, Auckland, serving ala-carte and excellent quality freshly cooked meals with an attentive and good customer service by 4 full time employees and 4 part time staff.
By continues patronage of more than 4,000 Filipino households from Manukau City, Waitakere City, North Shore and Auckland City and even outside regions as well as Kiwi locals and other ethnic groups, made the company more vigilant to expand its business. A few months after, a Gold Ribbon Cakeshop had opened in North Shore inside Taiping Market, 25 Porana Road, Glenfield, serving take-away cakes of different variants such as Ube (yum cake), Mango cake, Yema (custard cake), Mocha cake, Buko Pandan cake, Dulce de Leche, Chocolate cake, Sansrivals and more celebration cakes.
Gold Ribbon loyal and avid customer’s orders, patronage and positive feedbacks are continuously well maintained with the exceptional service as the trademark lines…“Sarap na binabalik-balikan!”
