Cocomango is a family owned business established in September 2014 in Redcliffe Queensland with the aim of elevating the idea of a native Philippine restaurant from being a mere eatery to a place where there is adventurous native cuisine paired with the pleasure of casual dining.
We offer a unique and delicious blend of Philippine cuisine and our menu will take you on an exotic culinary journey.
It’s hard to believe that a cuisine eaten by nearly 100 million people could fly under the radar, yet that is exactly what Filipino food has done. Philippine cuisine has had a very limited presence in the mainstream restaurant market in Queensland.
Philippine cuisine has evolved over several centuries from its Malaya – Polynesian origins to a mixed cuisine with many Hispanic cultural influences, due to many Latin American and Spanish dishes brought to the Philippines during the Spanish Colonial period. It has also received varying degrees of influence from Chinese, American and other Asian cuisines. All these influences from foreign cultures have enriched the flavours and tastes of Philippine native cuisine.
