MTS Law Opens the New Year by Giving Back to the Community

Free-Legal-Clinic---Revised

No one should be without proper knowledge of their rights as an immigrant or worker in the state of California – whether they’re a new comer or have been a long-time resident. This is especially true in the United States, where law is strictly enforced. One wrong move and you may face penalties or even deportation.

While it is necessary to know the many rules and regulations of the state by heart, there aren’t many sources that would provide this crucial information. Many Filipinos enter the United States without much knowledge on U.S. laws, causing them to experience hardship during their stay and employment in the U.S., such as discrimination and other violations against their rights.

Fortunately, this is something preventable. The Law Offices of Mary Lyn T. Sanga, A Professional Corporation (“MTS Law”) has dedicated itself to aid Filipinos and other nationalities living in Southern California in this regard. MTS Law is an Immigration and Family law firm located in Los Angeles, California, and was founded by Atty. Mary Lyn T. Sanga, who is a licensed lawyer in the state with over 10 years of combined legal experience.

On January 10, 2015, MTS Law, in cooperation with Pasadena law firm Custodio & Dubey, LLP, will conduct a free clinic, where interested migrants will be able to consult licensed attorneys on their rights, as well as for laws and regulations that they are bound to. Experienced lawyers will answer questions in a one-on-one consultation on various areas, including immigration, family law, employment, workers’ compensation, wills and trusts, LGBT issues, and the American Disability Act (ADA).

The clinic, which will be held at the MTS Law offices at 3600 Wilshire Boulevard, Suite 920, Los Angeles, California, is open to everyone subject to pre-registration requirement. Two sessions will be held – one in the morning (10:00 AM to 12:00 PM) and another in the afternoon (1:00 PM to 3:00 PM).

More than the expected number of people registered for the legal clinic. To accommodate everyone, MTS Law has invited other lawyers to share their time and skills to the clinic.  The attorneys who will participate in the clinic are Mary Lyn Sanga (Immigration), Karina Grace Oribello-Estillore (Family Law), Vineet Dubey (ADA, Employment, and Wills & Trust), Grace Tenorio (Immigration), and Casiano Ilagan, Jr. (Workers’ Compensation).

The overwhelming response that MTS Law has received from the community confirms that there is a need for free legal services in the community. The registration for the clinic is now closed, but MTS Law is already planning to conduct another one in March, so stay tuned. Remember, arming yourself with sufficient knowledge will help protect you and make your stay in Southern California most fruitful.
