Fil-Am Newport was formally established on December 30, 1991 as a Rhode Island non-profit corporation with the purpose to: “establish volunteer programs to aid the sick, disabled, old and the needy; assist deserving children who seek post secondary education; increase understanding of and share the Philippine culture with the community; assist military, students and other visitors; conduct educational programs and charitable activities; and achieve the highest standard of moral and unity”.
