Pusong Pinoy

It started as a simple idea…Donna Bernardo Rosario of California wanted to teach her son, Noah, how to be compassionate and generous by starting a book drive. The target goal was 2,000 gently-used Preschool to Grade 4 books to be collected and sent to established organizations in the Philippines who help underprivileged kids. She posted a message on her Facebook account asking for book donations. She received an overwhelming response and that’s how PUSONG PINOY started.

Since its inception on May 21, 2009, there are now over 37,000 likes on Facebook and over 40,000 books collected and donated to recipients. Pusong Pinoy has also started different projects such as food drive, scholarship program, livelihood project, feeding program, and school supplies drive to name a few.

We invite you to be a part of PUSONG PINOY. Join us in reaching out to disadvantaged children in the Philippines. These are children who have never seen a picture book in their life or those who attend schools with minimal or no library facilities. Those who are school-aged children and still can’t read. Children who walk for miles, rain or shine, to attend school with having only one meal a day. Let’s provide these kids the books and food they need. Dr. Jose Rizal once said, “The youth is the hope of our future.” If you believe this, please support our projects and the organizations that provide education and assistance to these kids.
